In the process of conceptualizing, developing and establishing its translation theory, the scholars of the Interpretive Theory of Translation (ITT) always pay attention to other disciplines, especially the research results of psychology. This article attempts to trace the origins of psychology, which is the origin and formation of the ITT, analyzes the intersection between ITT and experimental psychologists, developmental psychologists and neuropsychologists, explain the influence of the psychologists' research, represented by Oléron and Nanpon, Piaget and Barbizet, on the theory of freehand.
