In recent years, the scientific journals, especially English scientific journals in China, have made great progress with the support of “China STM Journal Excellence Action Plan”, but there are still few high-level English journals in interdisciplinary fields, and there is also a lack of discussion on the special role of “amphibious” journals (natural and social sciences). Taking Journal of Sport and Health Science as an example, this paper explores the characteristic and high-quality development path of natural and social sciences interdisciplinary English journals from the perspectives of content construction, internationalization, innovation, and training talent.
