Based on the important effect of gravity vertical gradient upon geodesy and geophysical prospecting, using gravity anomalies or topographic data for computing above mentioned gradient has been researched and analyzed. It noticed that gravimetry points must be densely distributed in the region near by computed point, and the measurement precision is better than 1 10-6m·s-2. Integrating irregularity of center region in adjacent computed point is also discussed. In addition, how to apply gravity gradient to geodesy and geophysics have been concisely demonstrated.
