As the only crystal whisker that has a spatial structure,tetrapod-like ZnO whisker(T-ZnO)has attracted more and more attention for its potential for wide application in composite materials. This paper reviews methods of preparing T-ZnO and outlines achievements and developments in studies of the growth mechanism of crystal structure and growth habit including applications of T-ZnO and some problems to be solved by further research in this field.
