The paper introduces the Remnants of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms printed during the reigns of Chenghua and Hongzhi of the Ming Dynasty. A comparison between the Remnants and the Renwu Edition from the Reign of Jiajing, the Ye Fengchun Edition, the edition collated and printed by Zhou Yue, and the Yu Xiangdou Edition, indicates that the wording of the Remnants is closer to that of the Renwu Edition and divergent from the Ye and Yu editions. The paper claims that the existence of the Remnants fills in the ' vacancy left over the 150 - odd years since early Ming Dynasty, and defends the conventional view that The Romance was composed during late Yuan and early Ming dynasties.
