近几年，中国对东盟的进出口货物贸易迅速增长，中国主要向东盟出口劳动密集型产品，进口资源密集型产品，双方在技术资本密集型产品上存在产业内贸易。双方的贸易结构必然影响到双方贸易对中国经济增长的拉动。通过对中国-东盟货物贸易的出口总额、进口总额与中国经济增长之间的关系进行经验分析，得出结论，即中国对东盟的进口和出口均能促进中国经济的增长，且进口比出口更能促进中国经济增长。
