The reaction of perfluorooctanesulfonyl fluoride and ethanolamine was in the isopropyl ether. The product is (N-)ethanol perfluorooctanesulfonamide. N-ethanol perfluorooctaesulfonamide was mixed with benzene, and phosphorus oxytrichloride was added. Perfluorooctanesulfonamidoethyl phosphoryl dichloridate was obtained. The disodium salt of this product was formed by mixing equivalent amounts of the product and aqueous sodium hydroxide. The disodium salt and PVA was mixed with oxidized starch , so the sizing was obtained. When applied for the paper, using Oil Kit Test-TAPPI 557, the oil repellent grade was measured to be 11. Also the oil repellent mechanism was investigated.
