Abstract:Recently, an important approach for mineral resources prospecting and exploration has emerged. It includes obtaining multi-source data by methods of geological, geophysics, geochemistry, and remote sensing; discovery, extraction, conversion and correlation of the multi-source data; and development of a metallogenic prediction model integrated with comprehensive information techniques. Taking the Keshenketeng Qi area in Inner Mongolia as an example, based on its geological setting and metallogenic regularities, this paper analyzes and extracts the comprehensive metallogenic information by GIS technique, and develops a weighted evidence model. Then we perform metallogenic prognosis in the study area. The practice proves its metallogenic significance as an important technique and method. Meanwhile we point out a prospecting potential in the investigated area.
