3,4,5-Trichloropicolinic acid was synthesized from 4-chloro-pyridin-2-amine via reactions involving chlorination,diazotization-bromination,cyanogenation and acid hydrolysis reaction with an overall yield of 57.8%.The structures of the compounds were confirmed by IR,MS,1HNMR and 13CNMR.
