As a green reagent,methyl phenyl carbonate is an active carbonate which can be used as carbonylation and methylation reagent.Methyl phenyl carbonate was synthesized from dimethyl carbonate and diphenyl carbonate.The effect of reaction temperature,catalyst and ratio of raw materials on the yield of product was studied.The results showed that the optimum conditions of the reaction are: the molar ratio of diphenyl carbonate to dimethyl carbonate is 1∶1,reaction temperature is 154℃,reaction time is 9 h,and the catalyst is Bu2SnO,The yield of product is 52.3%.Carbamate was synthesized from methyl phenyl carbonate.The structure of the product was characterized by 1H NMR.
