Time-travel TV series, since its prevalence in 2011, have aroused extensive attention from general publics. With the special reference of hit drama Palace: the Locked Heart Jade and Startling by Each Step. This essay attempts to discuss the reasons for causing the time-travel drama craze in three aspects: Firstly, the flourish of time-travel fictions in network literature has well cultivated the foundation of mass audience; secondly, during this social transitional period, the psychological needs of the masses have provided a broad consumption market for time-travel dramas; thirdly, for the purpose of gaining acceptance, the current time-travel drama is actually adorned by the accessory time-travel elements but gives its priority to the mature romantic-drama mode.
