The research progress on the somatic embryogenesis of garden plants was summarized-and it was deemed that the genotypes of plant seed,types of explants,exogenous hormones,external environment,medium composition and so on were the important factors influencing the somatic embryogenesis of garden plants,moreover,the origin,bioreactor,existing problems and application prospect of the somatic embryogenesis of garden plants were reviewed.
