The study on the satellite photogrammetry and engineering practice without ground control points are the diffi culties to all researchers in this fi eld. This paper introduces domestic and international research activity in optics satellite photogrammetry without ground control points, and analyzes the images from Mapping Satellite-1. The result shows that China plays an international leading role in the study on satellite photogrammetry and engineering practice without ground control points.
