In Banana Yoshimoto＇s famous works Kitchen and its sequel Full Moon, the kitchen has not only become a bailment to get rid of loneliness for Sakurai,but also her main life support. This ＂kitchen complex＂ is far less a surface reflection of modern women＇s life, but a result of women＇s deep-rooted heritance of the tradition and their physical instincts and psychological needs as well as the product of compromise between modern women and society.
