Zhang Jiuling was one of the political and literal leaders during the Kaiyuan period. As an important poet of the early years of the glorious age of the Tang Dynasty, he established a clear and implicit poetry manner;as the last virtuous minister of the glorious age of the Tang Dynasty, he rewarded and promoted many scholars with extraordinary literal abilities. The later literal talents promoted by him, e.g. Wang Wei, Meng Haoran, and so on, were greatly influenced by him because of their close relationships. In the development of the Tang poetry, Zhang Jiuling enthusiastically responded Chen Zi’ang’s avocation of poetic reformation. With his outstanding achievements, Zhang Jiuling highlighted the significant spirit of that era. So, Zhang Jiuling was the pioneer of the poetic style of the Glorious Tang Dynasty.
