The pace of professional reform in China’s basketball league has been gradually accelerated, with an increasing reform efforts and expanding reform contents. Chronic analysis of the CBA league reform is made in this study to grasp the inherent regularities of its development; the horizontal comparison with NBA is also made to point out the differences in core cultural values, management systems, business philosophy and operational mode between CBA and NBA. The experience of NBA development can only be learned rather than a complete copy from its development mode. Based on China’s economic development environment, the level of basketball development, the localized characteristics of the media and management mechanism, repeated discussion and full argumentation need to be done to make steady progress for the development of CBA.
