The Ruby gold deposit is located at the Masvingo greenstone belt, south-central part of Zimbabwe craton. The ore bodies are mainly hosted in sulfide phase and carbonate phase of the banded iron formation, which are closely related to volcanic eruption and sedimental deposition process. The Ruby gold deposit is a typical BIF-hosted gold deposite in southern Africa.
