Based on the hyperbolic function expansion method and Jacobi elliptic function expansion method, their extended forms were applied to discuss three kinds of coupled KdV-Burgers equations with variable coefficients, and some solitary wave solutions in different situations were derived, including soliton-like solutions ,shock-wave-like solutions and trigonometric-function-like periodic solutions.
