Monitoring and warning device for intravenous transfusion is developed based on PIC microcontroller. It supports the use of disposable infusion set to realize the intelligent accurate monitoring and alarm for whole process of intravenous infusion, which can allay misgiving for the patients and caregivers. System structure and function characteristics of the device are introduced in detail, then hardware design principle and the flow of software for PIC is given. Dropping speed range allowed is 12 to 160 drop/min based on the analysis of experiment detecting waveform. The experiment shows that:intelligent monitoring and warning device for intravenous transfusion has the characteristics of accurate monitoring, safety and reliability, easy operation, simple structure.
