This article mainly analyses the information management major’s characteristics and distinctions in the iSchool movement background.It defines the concept of library science,archival science,information resource management and information management & information system,analyses the characteristics and key points of each major,and points out the relationship among some of them.It considers that with the international trend of major merging and multidisciplinary development,a demand oriented curriculum system and qualification authentication should be insisted in the future.
