火炬松(Pinus taeda L.)是我国南方引种较广的国外松之一,生长快,材质疏松,是近年来大面积营造的纸浆材树种。为满足大量绿化造林的用种需求,至1988年底,我国已营建种子园及母树林达843hm~2,现已开始结实产种,但由于受多种球果害虫侵害,致使种实产量锐减,品质下降,严重影响火炬松良种基地的经济效益。
