Xanthan gum, a kind of supplymentery agant is studied for its synergistic action to fungicide. In vivo and in field tests, it showed that 0,1% of xanthan gum alone had little protective efficiency, but it had distinguish synergistic action when used in combination with fungicide MAFA in controlling rice sheath blight. The protective efficiency was increased more than 50 % .
