澳美两国曾是太平洋战争期间的盟国,但在解决战后日本问题上,双方在诸如对日受降仪式、盟军对日实施军事占领与管制以及对日和会安排等方面,都存在不小分歧。造成这种分歧的原因很多,其中,澳大利亚作为一个战胜国所具有的抱负及其地区安全战略,与美国的大国地位和全球称霸战略形成一定的冲突,这是双方在对日政策方面难以取得一致的主要原因。
Australia and the U.S.were allies during the Pacific War,but there existed big divergence between these two countries in dealing with problems of post-war Japan,such as ceremony of surrender by Japan,military occupation and control of Japan by the army of the allies,and arrangement of the peace conference about Japan,etc.The reasons for this divergence were many,but the clash between Australia's ambition as a victor state and its strategy of regional safety,and Amercia's status as a great state and its global strategy of hegemony, was mainly responsible for disagreement about the policies to Japan between these two countries.
